I have 4 of these units, which so far I've mainly used for enclosing working areas. Not a terrible product, but when time is money the last thing you want to do is have to spend more time than needed just trying to set these jacks up. Even that, I always seem to have to fight with these devices. The rubber legs will pop off or the handles will stick or the locking pin will engage as I'm trying to extend the pole (Frustrating). Most all of the plastic components are already showing signs of breakage. I think it will be just a matter of a little more usage before they will no longer work at all.
Worth every penny. Great tool. Enabled me to hang kitchen cabinets by myself. Should prove just as effective when I move on to blueboarding the basement.
It's really a 3rd hand. I bought my first "3rd Hand" last year. I use 2 to hang sheetrock on ceilings and they are excellent when hanging crown moldings and trim. I thought I would use it for a specific project (Hanging kitchen cabinets) and never use it again. I just bought 2 more, and I find myself using them all the time. They're very strong and built to last. Great investment for any do-it-yourselfer.
The 3rd hand is like having that other person at my beck and call. I HATE TO WAIT.,AND/OR ASK FOR HELP for projects I'm doing around the house that require another person to "hold up" something while I move it,tack it, hang it, paint it.etc. That's why this product is perfect for me.I'm a female with limited strength but great ambition. Ready and willing anytime I am.Love it. Can't imagine any project without it.
These came in handy when doing some drywall on the ceiling of our kitchen. Worth the price and will use again. Even used them to hold a ceiling fan during installation.
